PV Sindhu, the 24 year old Indian shuttler makes India proud again by defeating Nozomi Okuhara with 21-7,21-7 in the BWF world championship on Sunday.

The championship was held at St. Jakobshalle in basel, Switzerland . She avenged her bitter defeat of 2017 final in just 38 minutes.

The Olympics silver medalist is the first ever Indian to win a gold medal in the championship.

PV Sindhu after winning:

“I lost in the last two finals and this win was very important for me. I was to thank the crowd for supporting me every time.”

“I won for my country and I am very proud to be an Indian.”

“A big thanks to my coach Miss Kim and Gopi sir and the entire support staff. I also want to dedicate this to my parents an despecially my mom, it’s her birthday today. So, happy birthday mom.”

PV Sindhu had tears in her eyes as she stood at the top of the podium with the gold around her neck and the Indian national anthem playing.
